The NYC Pride Parade and WOC lesbian after-party.

I got a great assignment this year shooting the Pride Parade for the venerable NYC non-profit Housing Works.  You can see all of those images here. These are some of my favorite images from the parade.

After the 5 hour affair I made my way over to the piers on the Hudson where I learned a couple years ago a large portion of the black lesbian community gathers after the parade. I didn’t shoot it then but vowed to go back as it was sorid, totally rachet, intimidating and sexy. The fascists that disguise themselves as police in this city made it virtually impossible to get to the piers this year doing exactly what Kendrick Lamar intoned people not to do. But after hours of traipsing up and down the west side trying to make it on I succeeded.
